RENAULT TRUCKS MASTER SCOOPS DOUBLE AT TRADE VAN DRIVER AWARDS

Two vehicles from Renault Trucks’ Ready for Business range have taken home honours at the Trade Van Driver Awards 2019, with the Renault Trucks Master OptiLogstics 6x2 securing top spot in the Best Urban Delivery Vehicle category, and the Renault Trucks Master 4x4 winning Best 4x4 Utility Vehicle. 

Created by Trade Van Driver, the UK’s top van magazine for small business users, the awards give recognition to the manufacturers, firms and people who, in the opinion of the judges, offer the very best to retail LCV buyers.

In awarding the 6 tonne rigid Renault Trucks Master Opilogistics 6x2 Best Urban Delivery Vehicle, judges praised the flexibility of the van, commenting: “Urban distribution – and in particular home delivery driven by the online shopping boom – is a fundamental part of modern living.  For delivery companies, efficiency and productivity are key.  Renault Trucks’ solution with the Optilogistics 6x2 offers these companies everything – lower total cost of ownership, ease of loading and unloading and high volume, packaged within a vehicle with a non-intrusive footprint, making it perfect for use in modern residential developments.”

Built in association with NEFRA, the Optilogistics 6x2 is a tailored chassis design, featuring both low cab and cargo entry, increased internal load dimensions and high payloads.  It is offered as a cost effective and eco-friendly alterative to the traditional 7.5 tonne 4x2 vehicle most used for urban and haulage operations.

Presenting the Best 4x4 Utility Vehicle to the Renault Trucks Master 4x4, the judges noted that the vehicle offers operators an extremely well-engineered and very capable on-off road solution, remarking: “Robust and hardy, the 4x4 Master deals with off-road tasks with ease, but has the advantage of being switchable to two-wheel drive when on tarmac.  Supported by a truck network offering extended opening hours puts the Renault Trucks Master 4x4 in the top spot.”

The rugged Renault Trucks Master 4x4 panel van, minibus or chassis cab is the perfect partner for tough operations where maximum traction and ground clearance are essential.  Weighing just 150 kgs more than the standard RWD model, it offers increased ground clearance of 65mm on the front axle and 58mm to the rear. The Master 4x4, converted by Oberaingner with full Renault Trucks’ approval, switches from 4x2 RWD to full 4x4 mode for excellent payload with outstanding on and off-road capabilities.
