Austin Contract Services selects Renault Trucks to mark 25th anniversary

Austin Contract Services Ltd, a leading provider of biosolids transport to the agricultural sector, has added a second Renault Truck to its fleet as part of the company’s 25th-anniversary celebrations.

The new C480 8x4 Off Road with Wilcox tipper body, finished in metallic silver grey, was supplied by Jamie Sutherland at Renault Truck Commercials on a 2-year “Excellence” R&M contract and will be primarily used for transporting biosolids to agricultural sites across the South East.

The addition of the C480 anniversary vehicle highlights Austin Contract Services’ growth over the past 25 years and reflects the company’s commitment to evolving with the needs of its clients with the C480’s reliability and versatility vital in maintaining Austin Contract Services’ reputation for high service standards.

Kim Wetherell, Operations Director at Austin Contract Services Ltd, explained why Renault Trucks was the natural choice for this milestone vehicle: "We got our first Renault Trucks vehicle in January 2024, a hook loader, and it’s performing exceptionally well. Austin Contract Services has expanded its fleet significantly since 2021, growing from 9 to 23 heavy goods vehicles, including a mix of tippers and hook loaders. “Our growth in the last few years has been incredibly encouraging,” Kim noted. “By investing in this new Renault Truck, we are sending a clear message to our customers that we are dedicated to meeting their needs while adapting to the demands of the industry.”

The C480’s exterior has been finished in metallic silver to commemorate the company’s 25 years of operations, but the key focus is on the truck’s performance. Built on a reinforced Renault Trucks’ construction chassis with steel bumpers, the vehicle is ideal for Austin Contract Services’ needs, offering superior off-road capabilities and enhanced ground clearance which are vital for businesses the company serves. Designed with driver comfort in mind, the C480 with sleeper cab features Renault Trucks’ “serenity” bunk, offering double the number of springs and a thicker mattress, a heated and ventilated driver’s seat, enhanced cab and night lighting and an electric roof vent.
