Trevor Sandiford Ltd selects Renault Trucks for latest fleet additions
Agriculture haulage specialist, Trevor Sandiford Ltd, has added a Renault Trucks T520 6x2 to its 8-strong fleet, with a further T520 High 6x2 on order. Dealer service, truck availability and previously positive experiences of Renault Trucks were the key drivers in the new vehicle selection.

DESIGNED FOR MANOEUVRABILITY

The T520, supplied by Sparks Commercial Services, is fitted with a 30ft Plowman’s Atlas livestock container with 2 decks and full lifting in separate sections and is covering the South West on general local farm to farm work. The latest vehicle has aptly been given a nod to the company’s livestock roots with the name on the number plate using TS55MOO, joining stable mate TS55COW, a 2019 plate Renault Trucks T520 6x2 with Fred Smith flat bed body.

Debbie Sandiford, co-owner at Trevor Sandiford Ltd explains why they opted for Renault Trucks over a competitor manufacturer: “As with every sector, business is tricky right now, especially with soaring costs. Now, more than ever, we needed to ensure that any new vehicles added optimum value to the operation and that the back-up and customer service from the dealer is first class. We struggled to even get quotes from other manufacturers but Sparks Commercial Services and especially our salesman, Roger Millett, were completely on the ball. Roger has been very approachable and particularly helpful during the past couple of difficult years and kept us well informed on delivery dates.

Debbie continues: “My father-in-law, Trevor, introduced a Renault G170 way back in 1984 and, having previously owned Renault Trucks Premiums several years ago, and a T520 back in 2019, we decided to add another one to the fleet.”

The latest T520 has been specified with a three piece bumper with steel corners for extra durability operating in farmyards, along with roof-mounted twin air horns and dealer-supplied light bar with spotlights. Additionally, with driver comfort in mind, there’s 4-point cab air-suspension with ride height control system, heated air-suspended driver’s seat, and ‘comfort’ air conditioning.

“The truck is driver friendly and very easy to manoeuvre, especially getting in and out of tight spots on farmyards. We have absolutely no complaints with the vehicle, it does the job well, has low running costs and good fuel economy which all helps with keeping our operating costs down. We are delighted we made the move to Renault Trucks,” concludes Debbie.
